The EU itself has no countries with restricted freedom of speech, not more than America. I recognize that we have problems here too, but we have it a lot better all in all. Also in Europe it works to have gun laws becuase we actually know how to take care of our citizens (except with immigration where it's going south). Then again we wouldn't have this immigration problem if the US wouldn't have been such a shit stain and invaded several countries, causing political imbalance resulting in increased activity of terrorism.

The EU works in similar ways as the US does with states. It's a fact that the EU is economically tied with the US whether you think so or not. We also have a higher standard of living and from many perspectives are more free. You may have guns, but that's about it.

Biggest military, sure. However China is about to surpass the US economically and combined the EU is tied with the US.
