theflyingdutchman - The first one is from WB, he's drawing Bugs Bunny. #3 is from Hanna Barbara, he's drawing Fred Flinstone. #8 is from MGM, he's drawing Tom from Tom & Jerry. The rest do look like they are drawing Disney Characters. There's only a couple of the characters that I can's see so I can't place them.

While I was in the Army, there was a woman, a fellow soldier, that ended the careers of 5 other men from my unit just by claiming that she was raped, after she finished dating them. All of her allegations were eventually proven false but not until well after the fact. I agree with Doctor_Sherloki, in that case I think she should have been registered as a sex offender. But, she was never charged with anything.

This is an age old tradition, going on even during Darwin's time. He was probably aware of it, but didn't care. Darwin was a Naturalist focused more on animals then comparative anthropology or sociology. Given what I learned about this tradition the first time I discovered it from Natural Geographic Magazine, that guy is not just an elder in the tribe and therefore important, but he's a stud too. Those rings are worn around the neck by both men and women of the tribe and they are symbols of their sexual abilities, real or otherwise.
