Three strike rule definitely plays a huge part. Each state has a slightly different three strike rule, but a lot of states are locking up people for a long time for just 3 minor felonies and not focusing on locking up violent offenders.

As a criminal justice major, I'd like to add to this.
Not only does the United States have the largest number of people incarcerated, but also keep in mind that out of our entire prison population, it is also overwhelmingly poor people, people of color and just over half are incarcerated for drugs.
There's a very good documentary I just watched in my CRJ Ethics class called 13th. It's available on Netflix and primarily focuses on the huge prison population and the racial injustices in regards to it.

That's the rule I have with my car. I'm driving, I pick the music.
But that really only applies when my mom is riding with me. Because she tries to either turn the radio off or change it to an 80's station.

I'm the older sibling and a lot more motivated in general than my younger brother. I've always been on top of school work and just my life in general and he procrastinates a lot more. He's definitely a little more rebellious and sociable than I am. He's willing to push limits and see what he can get away with.

I made the mistake of not working up the courage to ask him out when he was finally single and now he has another girlfriend. But at the same time, I'm not in an ideal position in my life to be looking for a relationship. It would be too much on my plate. That and the fact that I had convinced myself he didn't feel the same were the primary reasons I never asked him.

When we had sex ed they basically just told us "This is the penis. The penis goes into the vagina". We went over the menstrual period and how a woman gets pregnant. But never went over the internal male reproductive, didn't entirely go over the internal female and didn't mention the fact that we don't pee out of our vaginas. I've met some girls that didn't even know the urethra and vagina are 2 separate openings.

They should really teach this with sex ed/anatomy. Both sexes should learn about both reproductive systems, in my opinion.
