They identify people and other animals with scents. Everything has their own scent they leave behind. Genitals just happen to be pretty accessible to their nose because of the height, especially if it's a dog like a lab or a retriever. Smaller dogs are probably more likely to sniff your feet.

I was able to see local police officers do some of those weapons training scenarios in front of a giant video screen. They're extremely realistic to the point the same scenario has about 10 different possible endings and even though the gun is unloaded, it still gives the kick. I was able to shoot the unloaded gun for a target practice kind of scenario. We just had to hit bullseyes. Of course I was awful but it's been really cool being able to see police work up close.

Not to mention that police have to act as if anyone they encounter is potentially armed because they truly don't know if they are. They can't afford to take the risk and assume someone doesn't have a gun on them and them bam they're dead on the ground.

THANK YOU! It's so frustrating sitting and listening to someone talk about how corrupted police are when they don't even understand what their job is like. I'm a criminal justice major currently taking a police studies class and honestly there is so much more to that job than the average American believes.

Yes there are bad cops and good cops. Its just that everyone only focuses on the bad cops.
