Over the last couple of years I've been working on this little stream/pond thing in my backyard. I finally got it right and decided to see how long I could keep it going before freezing this winter (live in MN, US). Around November, wildlife started using it as a water source (birds, squirrels, & chipmunks). Now I HAVE to keep it from freezing. Not easy when last night it was -12 F. Definitely worth it though, even lugging five gallon pails of water from the house. I may look like a lumberjack, but I get to feel like a Disney Princess.

The first year is the hardest. That 1 year coin is worth 20, 10 year coins. Way to be willing. Nice job!

Its pretty simple really. Kids to young to understand the permancy of death don't have a reason to react. Older kids and adults grieve according to closeness of the relationship, not title of the deceased. If my half-brother (whom I've never met) dies, I will feel likely little if any emotion. However, if my close friend of 3 years died, or God forbid, one of my pets, I'll be heartbroken. Additionally, we all grieve differently and even the kubler Ross stages don't just happen in a linear fashion. No one should ever judge themselves at how they handle grief.
