The colour was named after the fruit. Until then orange was just another shade of red. (Why do you think we call gingers 'redheads'?) Then someone decided it was different enough to be a colour and got it approved or some shit and now it's a colour.

Because time is a circular kind of thing (not to mention wibbly and wobbly), we must pause and look at the day from a linear point of view. Think of the day as a string, with 24 different sections, each a different colour. Let's say the hour between 12 AM (00) and 1 AM (01) is red. Is there anything before the red section? No, because it is at the beginning. Therefore, there cannot be a "time before midnight" if you look at it as starting over each day.

And shouldn't Arizona be before Arkansas? Basically all of these are in "alphabetical order" by first letter only.
