Where exactly (besides "desert") do one would encounter such hellish creatures? So I can stay clear away from those places. (unfortunately, my choice in major doesn't give me much of a choice in the matter when it comes to going to weird places, but I'll be damned if I don't try)

As a leo, I must also disagree. Do. Not. Dare. To. Touch/Hug. Me. Unless. You. Want. A. Very. Painful. Demise.

You are right, I would be scared to eat bugs as well. Who knows where they'd been. Taking my cats to the vet it's waaaay cheaper than ME going to the doctor.

A friend of mine is like the guy in the orange shirt for the first 2-3 weeks of classes... the rest of the semester she'll spend the entire class period (actually, in pretty much all of her classes) playing Clash of Clans on her phone.

Am I the only one who laughed? Because I did, I should be enraged because they just massacred one of Shakespeare's works, but I'm a little bit too busy being amused (and snickering/giggling) to care.

$1.86 in the gas stations close to my house (with Shell being, like at $1.83 if you pay cash)

not sure who that comment is directed to ('sides, that's not really surprising nowadays). However, guest does have a point, to some it works, unfortunately, there are a lot who are not part of that privileged group.
@guest, I can't do that, I've got reaaaaally heavy periods, anything that makes me move more than I should ends up with me and whatever I'm wearing with a big, nasty, impossible to remove, red spot. I've found a way to make it not as heavy though, vitamins. Folic acid works wonders on me.

If your roommate had to go from Waxahachie to Dallas in regular basis... kudos to them *shudders even more*
Really hate those highways. Specially those that seem to be always under construction.

Yeah, well, close, not dallas *shudders* I have nothing against it, but it's insane everytime I go driving in those highways. Fort Worth for the win.

I meant it more generally, around november or even march/april. The weather it's been nice lately, which makes me worry for winter. This year's was... quite heavy. Not like 2 years ago, though (I think), my campus was closed for 2 weeks then

Or a scorpion
Or some weird ass insect
Or maybe a spider.
Don't forget to bring clothes for all kinds of weather. Specially during that transition time from autumn to winter: 50s today? Looks like tomorrow will be on the 70s, or 80s if mother nature feels like. Scorching sun in the morning? Some nice heavy rain for the afternoon.

My mom's most played album:
"Stop sleeping until afternoon! At your age I was running marathons and being as active as possible! How did you turn up being my complete opposite?!"

They might be "alive" so to speak, but what matters are the electrical signals the brain is sending, and for a while, nothing is going on there. What keeps the embryo developing as it should are the "codes" within the DNA.

This remained me of a shirt I saw on a classmate today (because it was sort of puny, and for the green background with white letters).
