Good point, but also depends on who's defining the whiteness. Proper old school racial biology wouldn't recognize Greeks or Romans as white except for historical reasons, i.e to claim connection to history's greatest thinkers and empires.

Then spreading is much more important since it's a weak glue. Probably go diagonally as well as up-down and left-right.

Depends but I've never had use for any of these patterns. Assuming it's mating two surfaces, the glue needs to be spread evenly. I'd use a brush and go up-down, then left-right.
