I've seen people like this. I dunno what it is, personality disorder or something, but they seem to go from one extreme to another. From devil worshipper to born again Christian, from communist to right wing fascist or from vegan to excessive carnivore. Each phase lasts about ten years and then it's on to the next Real-Thing-That-I-Was-Looking-For-All-Along-OMG-I'm-Finally-Home. I hope they're happy but it's exhausting to meet them.
