They're kinda meh. No real scandals except the King occasionally speeding, doing coke or sleeping with sex sellers. It costs a couple of tens of millions dollars a year, which is fairly small in relation to the state budget but there are no benefits to the monarchy. It's mostly a matter of principle that conservatives wants to keep them around because that's how it's always been, and those of us who believe in democracy feel it's unbecoming of a modern state to have a bunch of state sponsored multimillionaires living off our taxes.
The left motions parliament to abolish the monarchy every year, but it gets voted down every year so far.

Duck and cover, put on my hazmat suit, seal off the ventilation, go to the room with no windows, run the backup ventilation through an air filter, live off my emergency rations for a couple of weeks until the fallout is lower, listen to the radio, evacuate in backup hazmat and stay alive.
