Yep. It's usually a last call for help. Physiologically, it's the brain last attempt to preserve the life. Most of the time the person writing the note, standing on the ledge, or making that last phone call doesn't even realize that it's not a goodbye they are attempting, it's a last ditch effort to reach for help. At the same time, there is evidence that suggests it's just the last sign we see before they commit suicide. Either way, that's a sad response to get from someone, in regards to the post.

I'm not sure about that. But I wish there was a rule that if you're going to be in America, you have to be able form a sentence on at least a first grade level. Just to make sure that you can contribute to society, and your ideas and thoughts don't sound like an idiot trying to troll.

I'm gonna go ahead and apologize in advance for the joke above. It is in bad taste and at best inappropriate and insensitive. Honestly I think it's a combination of adrenaline, training, and exhaustion (mentally and physically); combined with personality traits of individual officers. I think a lot of officers understand that there is a balance between authority and responsibility, but some just look at the authority as power. Those who cannot grasp the concept that they are public civil servants and not public controllers keeping us civil are the ones who you watch out for. None of that makes it excusable, they are just reasons behind it.
