Just a thumbs up, If that cover dented rather than cracked, It was not hardened enough to actually stop anything lethal. It is too unlikely too consider it a life saver outright, but likely absorbed a rib buster. The book didn't save your father most likely, but rather helped him save others. God bless the greatest generation.
