My boyfriend sees my flaws as flaws. He doesn't care about them but still...I love him to death, I really do, but I sometimes wish he'd think of me as a perfect combination for him...

well i think it's important that he sees them as flaws, because that's what they are to him, and that's ok, because imagine if he never did- i mean, you could inadvertently hurt him and he would never tell you because he thought it was a beautiful thing that you hurt him. And I also think it's good that he doesn't see you as a perfect combination for him- no relationship is perfect, and there's no one who will magically fit perfectly with you 100% of the time. that expectation is completely unrealistic. But if he and you have a beautiful loving relationship, what more could you ask for really?
I see your point. Anyway. He's amaZing (with a capital Z) and I'm just happy to have him)

flaws don't male you beautiful. they make you flawed. When you truly love someone, you can see their flaws and accept them. Infatuation, not love, is when you thing flaws make someone beautiful
What mcdonaldo said is real. I wouldn't have taken it to that extreme but it's true. Except I agree with pebble's last comment.

If someone sees your flaws as a thing of beauty, there is something wrong with them. Flaw are just that- flaws. If you truly love someone and they truly love you, they will not see you as perfect. They will accept you for who you are, but don't let themselves get abused or beaten up over it. Learn the difference. My mum saw my dad's flaws as things of beauty and se ended up getting beaten verbally and physically.
Yea but flaws could mean something physical also like freckles or being short or something else. I don't mean to sound insensitive to the situation that you're talking about but I think that's more of the point that the post is trying to make. That situation has no excuse.
when people say they love your flaws, it means they accept anything and everything that you might've done mistakenly in the past, but they love you anyway, and they find no reason to let your flaws get the best of you.
Since you can't be bothered to reply directly neither will I. To see someone as perfect IS to see and accept their flaws with them as a whole. But obviously you didn't get that.

no you can accept their flaws but there is a phrase no one's perfect, and it's true. You're not, I'm not, and neither is anyone we love. That's why the mess up sometimes. They're not perfect. We would never be hurt if they were perfect, or if we saw them that way. If you see anyone as perfect there is something wrong with you.
They aren't, but if you love them enough you can see them as perfect

um, no. you said it yourself that they're not prefect. You are saying that from your perspective which actually means that you don't see them as perfect.
Perfection is complicated. I agree with Pebble. You may not think a person is the world's most beautiful, the world's sweetest, the world's smartest, but when you love them, you find them a perfect combination of everything. Of ups and downs. Of goods and bads.
In the case of abuse, that's an exception, but most cases aren't like that
I agree. If there are serious flaws then there is no excuse like what mcdonaldo said but as I already said I think it's more towards pebbles point. It's talking about silly flaws not serious problems with a human being.
To view someone as perfect is to objectify them, even if it doesn't seem like it at first. To turn them into an unchanging object, like a "perfect" sculpture. I agree with mcdonaldo, to view anyway as perfect is a form of self-delusion. By definition, something that is perfect is without flaws. It is not a bad thing that nobody is perfect. Flaws do not make you a terrible person, they make you normal; being normal is not such a bad thing. I think people like Pebble have just latched onto the word perfect since it kind of fits as a way of describing something which they think is better than normal; it is poetic, but incorrect. However in reality I don't think they really mean that anyone can be perfect, even if only in your eyes. The word "Perfect" has become so overused, like the word "nice", or "awesome". I think a more appropriate word would be exceptional, outstanding, amazing, hypnotic, mesmerising, angelic, . . . . . but not perfect.
I'm not trying to be the debby downer her because I agree with the quote but I bet the girl behind the Barbie face is down right beautiful and doesn't get bullied for likes.
Mcdonaldo often girls go after guys that are moody, cranky, abusive... They seem charming to some... And even though its a bit twisted, there are women out there that appreciate that flaw... Maybe its not our prefferance, we wouldn't appreciate it and its not necessarily pretty... But love seldom is, who are we to judge?

I'm not judgin, i'm just saying no one's perfect, and you're delusional if you think anyone is
I have flaws (I'm a male) yet, nobody likes me for who or what I am... They can go fuck themselves! I am who I am.... Those assholes don't know what I can do, what I'm good at and what my hobbies are! My advice: Get to know someone, before judging them
In the case of abuse, that's an exception, but most cases aren't like that
