It's recommended that it be a sibling or otherwise another cat or pet they grew up with, since adult Siamese can be territorial. (So yeah, these cats kind of require their own Siamese twin.) Of course, their looks and demeanor more than make up for it, and they're been a popular breed for centuries. Kings and monks favored them as pets in their native Siam (modern day Thailand). They were also held as sacred, as it was believed they held the reincarnated souls of the dead. (The chances of that were probably 9 to 1.)
