The title "Ranger" is actually a pretty big deal in the military. It represents far more than just signing up, sure as hell not for a computer or loading job.
Ranger as a term kinda did at first. Range was an old word for "Patrol", during the colonial days the men patrolling the wildlands were "Ranging", thus making them Rangers. But in the last century the term goes much further than that, in the US Military at least.
