One of the scariest things is to have a parent who has Alzheimer’s and/or dementia and they wonder off.
My grandfather one day wondered off my aunts and uncles and cousins were looking for him everywhere. Turned out he walked to the grocery store which was 6 blocks away (small town) than got turned around because the store was remodeled and in the remodel they rotated the building.
So he started to walk home and got lost. He ended up 10 blocks away at the fire department. He remembered my Dad worked there and asked for him. But my we moved like 10 years before this happen. But luckily small town lol so they knew my Dad and called him. They said my grandfather was there and my dad said make him stay. He than called my uncles and they went and got him. He was gone for 5 hours in the summer Texas heat. The fire department helped him they noticed he was over heated and dehydrated. They said we were lucky we found him when we did.
