The text spells out that the picture is supposed to, among other things, depict the writer complaining about having no social life. I don't see it doing that.
Exactly. They pretend to complain. They are actually happy. But you can't tell people to heck off and not socialise with them without being rude.
So, corona saved them from being rude by not being able to go out, so they say "oh no this is terrible" so people will think they miss going out, but in reality they are so happy not to have to go anywhere or see more people.
Hmmm, I think it's the second word that did it. "Complaining" when he's very clearly is not - as can be seen by his demeanor - is thusly superficially complaining.
...That still seems like the description is just inaccurate to me. Are you saying that the person speaking doesn't actually complain about not having a social life?
Or do you think I'm wrong in thinking that the text is meant to describe the image?
Oh, I see what your getting at. It's kind of like a "look at all the fucks I give" image where the image is just a barren wasteland or something, implying they give zero fucks.
So, corona saved them from being rude by not being able to go out, so they say "oh no this is terrible" so people will think they miss going out, but in reality they are so happy not to have to go anywhere or see more people.
I don't want to drag this on too much, but if you'll indulge me, what part of the picture "shows him superficially complaining"?
Or do you think I'm wrong in thinking that the text is meant to describe the image?
