It's also a good idea to be exposed to alot of germs as kids it strengthens their immune systems.

You think this was bad I grew up with see saws that reached the 2nd level of buildings, metal slides, a thing called a bell which was a hoop tied by chains to a pole like a hoop skirt and they expected you to swing from it, swings that could go just as high as the see saws, and worse one was the Lilly pads a bunch of tree stumps just big enough to place 1 foot on and you were supposed to "leap" to the next one which was atleast 2 feet away.

there was a metal slide in a school near where i grew up, some poor kid went down it when a rivet or screw came loose, it tore his scrotum open. they removed the slide after that

ALWAYS GOTTA PROTECT THE MCNUGGETS! But yeah.. those metal slides. We also had swings where the anchor point was about 20 ft high and the swing was held up by rusty chains that would "pinch" you. Not once did I ever see a link switched or those things have the rust scrubbed off. Anyway, nobody would bat an eye during recess when we'd see who could fly out of the swing the farthest, not even when we went to far and hit the pavement instead of the little sand pit. Keeping the size ratios intact, that'd be like me jumping off the top of the roof of my house today, with enough horizontal force to land in the street in front of my house instead of my yard. That'd be broken bones today, back then it was a scratch and back to the swings. Size/strength ratio <_<.
