Thank you. The Mandalorian cost about $15 million PER EPISODE. There are these great shows and movies being made for streaming with huge budgets like Witcher, LOTR, etc. Disney is asking you for a few dollars a month, for less than the price of ONE movie matinee ticket you can watch their entire catalog and all their original streaming content. The Expanse is an amazing show loved by many (including me) canceled because it wasn’t seen as profitable. Saved by fan interest (especially one very rich fan..) and now that it is back- how can a fan watch it and not pay for Prime video or the show if they want to see it actually get an ending?

There are all these services with different shows yeah. But for one network to have them all you’d need to pay a single big price so they’d have the budget to make them all anyway. Then we are back to cable where you’re paying $60+ a month to just watch a few of the channels/shows while paying for everything else too. They finally delivered a model where you can essentially just pay for the things you want to see- and people are still claiming that as an excuse for piracy.

Many of these services allow you to watch original programming for free “not on demand” and all you have to do- like we always did before steaming- is watch the episode the week it comes out or tune in for a certain date and time. Personally I want to see the new Star Treks- especially Picard. I don’t want to buy CBS or whatever streaming. That sucks. Oh well. I’m sure someday I’ll get to see it and in the meantime there’s plenty else to do in my life and plenty else to stream on the services I have.
