Hey funsubbers, if you want/can, please help spread awareness so the SPCA can cover his vet bills (amounting to about R8000) - a link to donate is in the article. Rover seems like a really good pupper and I feel that he deserves much better, so in this time of Christmas/New Years celebrations I ask that we please consider helping a good boy.

Update: Rover seems to be pulling through, they are opening up a case of animal abuse against the owner, and they've received plenty of calls from people who want to adopt him. They still require assistance with the bills, please.

Why not charge the asshole responsible for the damages, have him pay then send him to jail for animal cruelty?

Legally, an animal is property. If the owner of the pup won't sue for damage to their property, or there's no owner, this is legally impossible. Animals have no legal rights.

How the fuck does breaking a dog's leg show strength???!!! You can break a dog's leg just by stepping on it. I had a dog who broke it's leg just by falling off the bed.
How about you break your own God damn leg that show how strong your really are!!!

Surely this dog is going to be taken out of his owners custody because that treatment is disgusting. To even think about doing that to your pet is beyond disgusting. I don't want to help if the dog is only going to be given back and treated just as badly.

Yes, he was removed and as far as I understand it they are looking for a new home for him.
