I still feel that "promoting the general welfare" is something education falls under.
They are failing at all that anyway though, so.... I'm sorry I have Great Expectations.
I don't mind a federal mandate that every state have an education system, but the feds aren't meant to have the influence to execute it, nor are they close enough to do it well with a single standard, much less to cater to the wants and needs of 50 individual states.
They should have some base regulations though so if someone is hiring someone and is looking at their resume they can get a better picture. Say Alabama wanted to teach flat-earth, young earth and ignore evolution, I'd like to know that when looking over Cletus's resume.
