Dissociative identity disorder is a real and serious illness and not just imagination or special snowflake syndrome. I highly recommend checking out "DissociaDID" on youtube.
They're super lovely and the videos are more than interesting. You get to know a great part of alters that live inside the DissociaDID system, except from the littles. They talk about their inner world, how alters are created, why, what different kinds of alters there are, how they battle everyday life etc.
In one video, Kyle, a male alter, tries to do their make up (the "host" is female) and fails miserably, it's so funny and interesting to watch.
Definetely one of my favourite educational YT channels out there. Apart from Snake Discovery.
GO WATCH.
I never like to accuse someone of malingering, but DID is one of the most faked psychological conditions there is. I've had a lot of doctors and therapists over the years and of the ones that treated people that supposedly had DID, they all thought they were faking it (even though they're not supposed to say that kind of thing, technically they aren't naming a patient). It's kind of fascinating in a way
"sometimes go a day without eating" is not that terrible tbh.
I eat like one meal a day if I remember / if someone buys or cooks it for me.
.
Sometimes I'll have two donuts and hot chocolate for breakfast and that's it for the day.
.
Most days I have dinner, but like a side plate worth of food.
.
Other days (like today) it's 17:30 and I've had an apple.
.
Almost had nothing, but had the apple because I had to wait for lab equipment to dry and the apple was in my office for the past week so I figured I should probably eat it sometime.
I used to be a bit like you. The problem is I almost never feel hunger. I tested it out once and I went 4 days on a bar of chocolate and an apple (my mind was like "hey eat something, otherwise it's probably unhealthy"... as if chocolate and apple were healthier). I was still not hungry. Although this was a particular time of my life where I felt absolutely nothing, to this day I eat only out of gluttony and sometimes still completely forget. Same goes for drinking, I had to put a post-it note on my door saying "take sthg to drink" and put my bottle on my desk, otherwise I don't think of drinking.
That can be linked to certain sensory disorders and other physical problems that aren't all that rare. If you have trouble maintaining nutrition or a proper weight you should bring it up to your dr or at least pack ensures.
