Not taking a side in this but the "industrial deaths" statistic is fairly bizarre because men are more likely to take/be given higher risk jobs. So, yeah, of course they'll die more. How the actual statistic compares when you rank it to how many women with the same jobs die I imagine would be decently different. They'd likely still be higher, but the statistic offered feels like a misrepresentation

Problem with the suicide statistic - men are more likely to SUCCESSFULLY commit suicide. Iirc, women are more likely to engage in self harm, and close to equally as likely to attempt suicide. Their methods just tend to be more successfully mitigated
Not to be a prissy bitch about it, but I just got hacked in the ankle. I have no idea how it happened, all I know is I fell asleep, bled on the sheets, and now might need new sheets.... and the cost of sheets is TOO DAMN HIGH!
Anyone want to toss in the numbers and funding for prostate cancer vs. breast cancer ? Just for fuel for the fire of this post ? Feel free to talk about shelters and domestic abuse too. It's high time for the extremist on both sides of feminism to get together ,realize that men have problems, women have problems ,they have shared problems and chill. Taking the word "man" of text books and stupid shit needs to stop. Sorry for the rant. The smart ass in me has to say "pay gap". lol
It took 2 quick internet searches to reveal that in 2012 there were approx. 1.7M breast cancer cases compared to 1.1M prostate cases. Doesn’t mean that breast cancer should be the most talked about thing but let’s face the facts of: are men really about to overcome their egos and talk about their private regions and it’s illness? And how many women will speak out about losing something that’s so vital to a female appearance and so deadly?
All I am saying that , it doesn't matter what type/ who has it, let's fund both and hopefully find cures and more effective less intrusive treatments for all . Breast cancer is a terrible cancer. All this gender shit is crazy.
The divide is insane, we are talking about our moms, dads, friends, children. We need this constant gender battling to stop and unite and try to fight the real problems instead of each other.
I don't even know why it has to be a competition in the first place.

Both testicular and prostate cancer have very high survivability rates when treated. But Treatment for prostate cancer is significantly more invasive than breast cancer, and has more stigma/cost to it in most cases. Women seemingly can generally get better healthcare just visiting their OBGYN for no particular reason than men can when visiting a specialist and something is actually wrong.

I just think the resources should be more available to them. Whether men USE the resource is their own perogative

As an aside, didn't the CEO for the breast cancer awareness charity have a salary over 6 figures awhile back? Maybe I have my stories crossed
the thing about breast cancer is that even thinking about the gender sided thing about breast cancer and prostate cancer, men can get breast cancer too. It's hella rare compared to cases of women getting it but men have breast tissue too. With it being as rare as it is men dont tend to go to the doctor about it until its too late as its not commonly known that men can even get it so they dont actually go to the doctor until there is a very obvious sign that something is wrong like bleeding from the nipple etc
That is a problem. Most people hate going to the doctors in general. It does seem that the "your weak ,if you ask for help" thing is slowly changing for the better.
I don’t know man, but most women I know have to nearly die before an obgyn takes them seriously. My aunt has had breast cancer 4 times, and this latest time she had been getting regular screening (3 times a year for 4yrs) before some resident went through her 3 year old scans to find that she’s had cancer for the past 3 yrs. my mom had ovarian and cervix cancer ten years apart but her docs thought she was crazy the 2nd time around and let her go months before a proper scan and diagnosis
How's your mom , if you don't mind me asking ? I hope she is ok. It's terrible. I recently had a bit of a scare with one daughter with ovarian cancer. She is ok, but she had cancer cells, so she has to be scanned every other year. My olds daughter tested clean after a breat cancer scare a few, years back. It's unbelievable , some of the doctors put testing off that long.
