There's something in Captain Marvel that makes you seriously question what the fuck is going on if you look at it through a hentai lens.
It also might be the funniest thing I've ever seen if you start adding little side things to the metaphor... like..... a ball.. and then a baseball...
I haven't actually seen captain marvel haha. I wasn't super interested and now all the sjw and controversy and stuff and I've pretty much lost all desire to see it
That's why I did my best not to spoil it. You'll know it when you see it.
Don't let any of that crap stop you. It's a fucking awesome movie; she's a badass because she's just a badass... screw whatever sex she is. She's also fucking hilarious. It's better than both GotG, better than Black Panther, better than Ragnarok. It's not as good as Civil War, TWS, Infinity War or Iron-Man, but whatever.
The little nuances throughout, and the sheer amount of them is astounding. Ronan's ship in GotG basically gets it's own blueprint and you learn where the "Accuser" part comes from. It's worth it just on the level of pain-staking detail.... but her being an absolute bad-ass doesn't hurt.
My only beef is they don't show the ramifications of her going "Binary". In the comics she's basically useless for months after she does it.
It also has one of the best villain twists ever.
It'll never be on Netflix. It's going to be the first movie on Disney+. It'll be on like... TNT and TBS at some point. Still though, There's a ton of subtle connections to Endgame. I dunno why you wouldn't want the best Endgame experience you can have.
Haha well if you want me to be brutally honest:
It's hard to get me interested in most superheroes. And just a warning: I will be mix and matching DC/Marvel references so forgive that.
'
I don't hate the genre, or even necessarily dislike superheroes, but most of them I'm not really DRAWN to. Possibly because I didn't grow up following most of them. The only "superhero" show I watched as a kid was CyberSix, and a cross-dressing mutant woman with a panther as a brother (and connections to the Holocaust if you read the actual comic apparently) is a bit of a niche character.
'
So I don't have that draw, which a lot of other people have. Superman I actually find to be a supremely boring character. Batman and spiderman are the only ones I'd really known much about when the onslaught of marvel movies came out, and they'd already both had several movies done about them
All that said, I did attempt to give some of them a shot:
I watched Thor, because it was so widely raved about and Loki was considered absolutely awesome, and while I didn't let myself get too drawn into the hype when watching the movie, but I still ended up finding it.... Really bad. It honesty reminded me of the first transformers movie in a weird way in terms of plot coherency. So I gave up on the Thor series because I had no interest after that
'
Black Panther I also attempted because it seemed kind of unique, but I was bored out of my mind by the 30 minute mark.
'
I have zero interest in captain America and sadly nothing has come close to changing that. I did catch a bit of the movie by accident and my reaction was "who the heck is this dweeb and why is he so important <_<" I got bored again and stopped watching. Didn't even know until later that it was captain america
Pretty much the only ones I have interest in are Spiderman, Iron Man, Guardians of the Galaxy, and Deadpool, and the last two are mercenary heroes so I'm not sure they count. I have never gotten around to watching the spiderman or iron man ones, though. I did see Dr. Strange and it wasn't bad
'
Keep in mind my picky nature doesn't apply to just the marvel movies-- I have a hard time in general finding things I want to and enjoy watching haha. But you asked for reasons so here they are haha
That's fair enough. You're not wrong about Superman, for the most part, he's the lamest character (not just hero) in all of comics. Even some of the gimmick villains such as Kite-Man or Condiment King are more interesting (yes, those two are real characters).
Well, one day I'd recommend going through the MCU if you have the time (a lot of time, like a week). Captain America IS cheesy AF at first, that's part of the point, but he turns into an absolute beast later (I had to explain that to a few friends to convince them to watch The Winter Soldier, they said thanks, lol). The first Thor is... eh... whatever... the second is terrible, the third is pretty good. Part of what makes each of these movies in the MCU so good is how they build of each other though, so just randomly picking one and watching it without prior knowledge can be difficult, even the origin stories. Dr. Strange, for example, has the whole thing about the time stone.
As for GotG and Deadpool, they count as heroes...
I mean, superman *can* be interesting, but it takes a lot. There's too many stupid little inconsistencies in how his character is presented also, and me being the overthinking person I am, those kind of things can pretty much destroy my ability to enjoy a movie even a small amount haha
'
I might. Like I said I'm not strictly opposed to any of them for the most part, and I still plan on giving ironman and the spiderman (whose name my phone keeps changing to "epidermal") series a shot. Captain America it would take a lot because like I said the character itself doesn't interest me. I may watch one of the later movies someday but they could be the best movies ever made and there's still just nothing that makes me want to see his story haha. I feel the same about the Hulk also.
'm also not sure I want to attempt to endure two terrible movies to get to one that might be okay in Thor's case. I'd probably just read a summary of what important points I'd need to know going into the 3rd movie. Or say "to hell with it" and put it on and let the chips fall where they may. x)
'
I can agree on that part-- it's interesting to see them tie this universe together and see how it all interacts. What I've seen of spiderman and iron man's relationship seems pretty interesting also, and how they've tied some of the characters together. And I'm also not going to take away from the costume design, music, sfx, etc-- those seem pretty decent in a lot of the movies, too. I don't think they necessarily made terrible movies a lot of the time.
'
Luckily the internet helps explain connections to unwitting people like me-- even when we're not looking for explanations (memes in particular).
'
He's Marvel, just not in the MCU. Stupid Fox rights.... but that'll be remedied sometime around summer since Disney is buying out most of FOX entertainment so FOX can focus on sports and "News".
It's a shame they killed off both Wolverine and Spiderman before managing to get deadpool over there haha. It would have been worth it just to see him interacting with them
They never killed off Spiderman o_O. Anyway, they're going to reboot the X-men and FF. Deadpool can just break the 4th wall and pop over. I personally want a scene where Deadpool is chillin, watching the end of Dark Phoenix, pops out the blu-ray and says something snarky before putting in a blu-ray for whatever MCU movie is up next.... and then he can just jump into the MCU. He can make references to the previous X-men movies, and it'll make perfect sense because nobody in the MCU will know what the fuck he's talking about, just like in the comics.
It also might be the funniest thing I've ever seen if you start adding little side things to the metaphor... like..... a ball.. and then a baseball...

Haha that sounds like it would be genuinely epic
