I relate to this on a deep personal level

Hahaha such a 'man' thing. Honestly, not even a good thing, we should take more responsibility...But our wives and gfs are just so good at picking presents, and they just CARE so much. Plus they enjoy it, so this is probably going to always be a thing.

My Dad is the one doing this in my family. I'll have opened all my presents and my Dad walks into my room with a full sized Kayak and Mum's in the corner like "Okkkaayyyyy...we got you a Kayak! Happy Birthday????"

I go shopping with my wife for all of my daughter's presents. This year I also wrapped all of my daughter's Christmas presents so that my wife would have less to do.
