Dave Ramsey baby steps

I definitely read that as "seven steps for babies", because apparently my brain forgot that 'baby steps' is a common phrase, and I was really confused for a solid minute.

"Baby" steps if you already have money. Someone barely making it from paycheck to paycheck has no chance in hell of having an extra $1000 sitting in the bank just in case, they're lucky if they still have $100 left when their next check comes in

Unless rent is 50% of your income, bills 30%, loans 20% and food 3%. Guess what I can cut back on?

My rent is 60% of my income, bills 10%, food 50% for my family and I. That's -120% of my income alone. What saving dude?
