I once asked my mom and dad (separately) if they had ever cheated and if they feared the other had. Their answers both were : "Are you crazy! Why on Earth would I do that?" for the first one and "How can you think so low of you father?"/"Do you think your mother is stupid enough to not talk about a problem she might have and then decide to stay with the source of this problem?" and at least their relationship is not built on a potential lie. (they've been married for 42 years and I know their lying faces and voices, they were sincere)
