Did they draw straws to see who has to be the next statue?

it's more like a thing you do if someone dies to honor him. in buddism they believe that after your dead you life further and some monks even can control their heartbeat etc.. some meditate that deep that it looks like they are dead but in fact they are not. some monks go that deep in meditation, that other people want to prevent the body from harm while the monk is meditating.. even after 100 of years. they think that some monks are that skilled that they can prevent their body from decay & dead by going in a really deep meditation state. often the body of monks who do that get preserved in like a glas container.. and some.. going to be a statue.. as a ritual like thing to honor them & what they achieved in their life.
