Yes fuck mosquitos and fuck my body for being allergic to them. Mosquitos coming to my house annoying the fuck out of me. Also humans are the mosquitos of sharks. We go swimming in their waters trying our best to get as close as possible or just swerve around/above their heads
What do you mean no one bats an eye?
One of the biggest arguments and morality issues of our time is question whether we release genetically modified mosquitos to kill off malaria
Demon_razgriz is right. We are willing and at the precipice of completing the gene drive to evolutionarily alter the entire species to forego human deaths. Shark attack’s are more reported because they happen far less frequently and thus are rare enough events to bat an eye at whereas we have taken effective and continue to take even harsher controls of staving off mosquito deaths.
There have been and still are massive campaigns at both insect abatement and sleeping nets in countries where mosquito related deaths are highest. PEPFAR covers and supports many aspects of health including anti mosquito programs, and has been highly successful. George Bush is still welcomed as a hero in many parts of Africa for his huge contributions. Domestically, vector control agencies routinely run awareness campaigns, spray for bugs, eliminate mosquito habitats, and more. I wouldn’t say that people don’t bat an eye. I would say that in many developed countries people are more afraid of being eaten by sharks than dying of malaria. Just like crime, terrorism/gun death are less likely killers but more salacious headlines than heart disease or cancer, news is about ratings and reactions, not statistics or altruism.
