Most stories have been told, but there are many ways to tell them. Most of what you see or read these days is retreads of old stories told with different characters in different situations often mashed up with other stories. (Shows keep more than one plot rolling to keep them feeling fresher). But that's not necissarily a bad thing. Life is derivitive, that's just how it works. Over 90% of all music is based on the same musical scale. Here we're all writing with the same 850 basic English words, making up new ones doesn't make you creative it makes you annoying.
Any story you tell that you make up in your head, even if it conforms to known plot lines, will be unique because you are the one writing it.
