Correction, it was past middle age, given life expectancy of a woman was about 30 years.

A life expectancy of 30 doesn’t mean most people die at 30, it means that an awful lot of people die really young, but once you survive growing up, you have a good chance to reach 50-60+ years of age
Thank you. Most people completely mistake what the life expectancy actually is and assume that people died at the age of 30. It's an average, but given that they could expect a high infant death, sometimes as high as 7-1, it really skews the numbers.
"Facial features have changed over the millennia". Ummm, no. Pretty sure there are plenty of people still walking around with those features. But hey what do I know., I only have to deal with people on a daily basis instead of looking at skeletons for a job.

It’s true that there are plenty of people who still look like this, but it states in the article that in general, people (both male and female) have less “masculine” or more “smoothed out” features nowadays (less pronounced brow etc). This is of course not true for everyone.
