We were all waiting there for a breach... running from side to side on the boat whenever one was spotted lol... but yeah, even just seeing the back of one gives an idea of just how big a humpback really is. We also saw a bunch of seals and shnoz as well, there was always something you could look at, so all in all, money well spent.
Glad you got a good experience, weather's also a big factor. We had bad weather but fortunately got to see breaching whales so it made up for it in a way haha
Lucky! Didn't get to see seals, did you go near an island or see them just in the water?
They were hopping on and off a buoy about 2 miles from shore.. the weather was dreary, but not bad, no fog or anything, just low cloud cover, bout normal for the coast of Alaska.
aye, it's on my list, traveling around Europe is ahead for now... although... depending how the geo-politics fold out, I might hide out in NZ for like 10 years.
Hahaha sounds like a solid plan, NZ is gorgeous tho so it wouldn't be too bad. I'm planning on doing a Europe trip later this year, if I get enough money cause that's my main issue.
Yeah... the idea is that even in a pacific war, NZ is just gonna be chillin.
Back in like.... 8th, 9th grade? (12-14 y/o) we had to map out and budget a trip to Europe for less than $1500 and visit at least 6 diff countries as a thought exercise in a history class. With inflation i'd imagine that would be about $2000 now... anyway, it's possible, but difficult.... lots of research involved... literally down to the hostel distance from w/e you wanna visit and travel time by foot.
I had a badass history teacher, shout out to Mr. Otto.
Dang that's dedication to teaching, I should try that. See if I can budget the heck out of my trip and maybe make it cheap but still enjoyable, if it works I'll be thanking Mr. Otto
Best teacher I ever had and it's really not close... dude was fun AF.... he's where I get my love of history from. Fun side note... before he taught history he tested roller-coasters @ Six Flags over Texas lol.
Are you serious?! What a legend haha
I had a great history teacher but she was a little too laid back (and reallllly liked her wine if ya know what I'm sayin) still a sweet teacher, always passionate. History was always a fun subject
100% serious, I honestly wish I had him later, he ruined me for other teachers, especially history teachers... the cunt that followed him up was basically just a paper pusher I had a field day with.
He wasn't laid back either, we went through all the material designated by the hilarious state of Texas and then some... with notes out the ass (I still have pages and pages)... and still finished the curriculum ahead of schedule. We then spent the rest of the year watching movies, playing games or doing HW for other classes, you had your choice of those 3 basically.
This is also the same fucker that introduced me to Civilization and Oregon Trail (yes 85% of us died from dysentery).
My biology teacher and I fought each other in Mortal Kombat 2, had a pet snake to replace his piranhas bc he said they were too boring, and opened for Skillet once. Did I also mention he's not only a great biology teacher, but also a devoted Christian?
They both sound amazing, I think teachers need to be paid more and respected more rather than treated like a 'lower profession' because they literally shape the minds of the next generation, and like you guys, some make a lasting impression and can even determine your future career. My biology teacher was the best, so funny, great teacher and SO much banter. I reckon science or history teachers in most schools are the ones you remember
I know same here, it's just stupid. People wonder why there's so many idiots in the world , just question the education system and the shit teachers have to deal with
yeppers. I actually think rays feel cool... since you kind of expect them to feel like that. Sharks are cool for awhile, basically until you rub the wrong way.

The coast is damn beautiful tho I can say that without bias
