If nobody cared, they wouldn't keep ending up arrested. But they do, and their faces are plastered across the news pretty regularly. And "nobody's talking about it...?" Does Ashley not read the news? Has she never heard of Corey Feldman? Terry Crews? Anthony Rapp? Lots of people talk about it. Lots of people have BEEN talking about it even before now. The problem is, when these boys go to the police or their friends, justice fails them because the (majority male) justice system STILL will not change and write the laws to include male victims. Because for some reason, the (majority male) justice system does not want to hold women to the same standard as men, because...because I don't know why, to be honest. I have no idea. I mean, holy shit, that one musician guy said a teen boy should have known better than to be alone with Kevin Spacey. A grown man said that. Just, what?
I see a lot of male and females putting down male victims, not a majority of either. And when Terry crews came out on Twitter he got some backlash saying " if you felt that way imagine how the small defenseless women must have felt "
And when Finn Wolfhard ( the kid from stranger things who's 14 ) got told by a grown add women in her 30s that he needs to " hit her up " when he hits 18 people were laughing when he said he was uncomfortable and that he should love the attention cause he's a male
"Man, he's lucky to get that kind of action at that age" is just the male-oriented version of "but she looked/acted so mature for her age", and the justice system/society needs to realized that.
There is tons of bias towards women in the justice system. This is only a small area, but not an actual issue. Any woman who gets into court for this will almost certainly be properly punished. The issue is that society views it so casually that very few women will ever go to the courtroom.
Rare cases that I didn't think about. Such cases aren't particularly common, but I'll admit that I had overlooked that.

Probably referring to Loren Morris who was sentenced to only two years for having sex with an 8 year old boy. The judge probably took into account that she herself was clearly mentally challenged and only 16 years old when she did that, so I'm not sure this is representative in any way. I'm pretty sure though in any court case it will be taken into account if and how much the victim was traumatized by the deed.
I suppose that her own mental illness and being a minor is a big part of her lower punishment but I feel like if the genders were reversed those would not likely have been nearly as big a factor.
There was a commercial on TV a few years ago, can't remember what it was for, but there was a "sex and the city" looking group of middle aged women sitting outside at some Street cafe, and a male jogger goes by and stops at a light, he lifts his shirt to wipe his face and the women are talking about how hot he his. Then he lowers his shirt and turns around and they realize that he is the teenaged son of either one of them or one of their friends (can't remember...), then they act all embarrassed.
It was played for laughs, but can you imagine how creepy as fuck it would be if it was middle aged dudes and a teenaged girl?
