If you're broke, you gotta do what you gotta do

Yeah if you don't need immediate attention ( meaning you won't die, or at least not for a while ) then take an uber. Like if you broke a leg or something

However, if you're having any sort of breathing problems or chest pain, call a freaking ambulance! Uber drivers are not EMTs.

Why is this news? People have been driving themselves and others to the hospital for as long as cars and hospitals have existed. I've driven myself to the emergency room twice in the past three years. I'm sure in larger cities with fewer car owners calling a taxi to go to the emergency room, hospital isn't uncommon. With the convince of cell phones and apps for both ride sharing and taxi service, I'd be surprised if ambulances DIDN"T see a drop in use.

This isn't surprising. One of my friend's neighbours drove himself to hospital during a brain stroke because his insurance doesn't cover emergencies.

Definitely. People would drive themselves or have someone else drive them or get a taxi. Cheaper and sometimes faster.

Personally, I would I rather die than leave my family in so much debt that they can never recover from it.
