There's a phenomenon involving superconducting called quantum levitation. Similar to magnetism I believe. Anyway, it allows you to hover a small disk a certain length above a superconductor. But it will always stay at that distance, even upside down. Since it's hovering, you can spin it around the superconducting track with almost no friction. Here, they made the track a Möbius strip.
