If they had drawn a turtle vertical from the side (like swimming up in a pond) it would have been better (two "pitchfork" parts as feet, the [X] and cube above it as part of the shell, the /= [for lack of better way to type it] as the head and the two solid blocks in the middle the body/lower half of shell)
I know that it somewhat looks like a turtle, but it is actually easier to draw a fucking turtle than that. For instance, look how much simpler the turtle is than the symbol it is drawn over to show that the symbol means turtle.
That's why in China, they use simplified Chinese. Which loses all resemblance of what the character originally means.
( That's why it's not culturally good)

Only good Chinese people in Taiwan (originally Hong Kong also, but not anymore) use traditional Chinese not lousy simplified lost-resemblance-of-it's-original-meaning Chinese.
