It makes me sad that people have to transition homeless and/or mistreated dogs into being able to be with people again. What did the most selfless and loyal animal do to deserve that abuse?
Nothing.
If the dog bit an infant without provocation - meaning it wasn't aggressive or affected by prior abuse - then the owners probably wouldn't mistreat it extensively, they'd get rid of it right away even if they hurt it a bit. I think it takes more than a hit or two to make a dog unable to be with people
