There may have been really huge, serious crimes elsewhere so they didn't have the officers to spare for a small theft. So then they thought this guy was a murderer so they figured that took some priority. But then it turns out he's lying to the police to get them away from people who may be dying for his own personal comfort. Doesn't sound genius to me, am I missing something?

Besides, if that many resources can be dispatched for a justified shooting, they could have easily sent a patrol car to help out.
Killing is a very legally touchy subject. Mere trespassing on property isn't usually enough to warrant killing. Invading a house with a weapon on the other hand...

I agree with this guy but l don't think we have enough nasty evidence against them doing something unlawful - except being a neighbourhood noise menance!
