but who defined that they're in that continent? Can a southern North American country go to South America? Can a northern South American country go to North America?
A country can leave a continent, they can do so by waiting a really really long time for the Tectonic Plates to break apart the continent by shifting away from each other.
Since there is no significant geographical separation between Europe and Asia, the border between the two is largely an arbitrary, historical, and cultural construct.
