Older people have already learned the lesson of how much it means to be appreciated is why

I work at a grocery store and usually older adults treat me and my coworkers like trash

Can't speak for holding doors open but old people in public transport are the worst. They cut the queue, and take up two seats by sitting on the aisle seat with the window seat empty. I try to be polite and when I see an old person in the queue behind me (and I mean really behind me, not cutting the queue, because screw people who do that) I let them go first, and they usually utter a thank you, but in general I don't like how a lot of old people behave in public transport. Then again there are also adults and young people who do these things, but really I mostly encountered old people doing this.

They also get super pissed at ordinary things, but not as much as adults
