Some places in the US has the red/yellow combination too. So, hardly any difference at all in fact.

I get anxious around green lights that have been green for a while, most of the time yellow lights are barely enough warning

Oh, for some reason earlier it wasn't showing the rest of the gif. It was just showing the solid green on the left and the blinking green on the right. But now that I see the whole thing, I understand and agree. I think it's better as a whole.

And traffic lights in NYC vs the rest of America is that the ones in NYC have .1 sec of yellow light.

In my country, we have a 10 sec countdown before the light turns red/green... it's fun to do the countdown..

I hate to admit it, but 5% to 10% of our American drivers are too stupid to accomodate this change, even though it's just more/better information.

That's generous. IMO, that percentage is waaay higher. I feel that a huge percentage of American drivers have no business even being on the road, much less have the capacity to accommodate road rule changes.
