I used them to hold the Chuck E Cheese tokens whenever I went there. Those were my allowance things because I'd have to report back to my parents to get a refill.

I also used them to hold disposed caps from those badass cap guns.
I played with these when I was young, filling them with all sorts of malarkey. Now I see them used as geocache containers. If you don't know what geocaching is, definitely take a look.
Yep, they have a screw on cap, and are actually fairly strong, I'll find one and post a pic later on. One of the upsides to inheriting an old house from a pack rat grandfather is lots of amazing old stuff laying around. Like a 200+ year old bed in my attic.
I unfortunately sold some things and others were damaged over time, some things I will never get rid of (like family made paintings) they simply mean too much, said bed for instance belonged to my great grandmother and although is in rough shape (given its age it should be dust!) is still beautiful!
