we have noticed, but we just refuse to believe that a simple nosebleed would spurt blood all over the walls. It looks more like someone slit the horses jugular and the horse flailed around for a while before dying.

A lot of horses will blow their noses when they get nose bleeds, which would explain the splattering. (Still, though, thats a lot of blood for a nose bleed.)
