Characters added to thrift-store paintings

I get that the idea is supposed to be cool and all that, but frankly I don't see why those pieces of art had to be ruined... If I had been the artist who had painted the original pictures I'd be pissed

As an artist I implore you.... Please, please, for the love of all that is good, never do anything like this without the artists' full consent! It is disrespectful and ruins hours if not days worth of work (not to mention years of training).

And then they find out it's a long lost painting worth millions.
