What is the verb that describes venom being placed on the body? Venomed?

But, since it's in the food, and not being injected, wouldn't it be poison?

Yep, venom. "Envenomed." although most definitions I am finding say it means to put poison into something. But poison is something that is ingested, venom is injected.
