I get what you mean, most people that use terms like that don't mean it in a bad way. But on the internet it is very hard to judge how it is meant, so it is probably for the best to just stay away from using it

Agreed, but it obviously wasn't meant to hurt gays in this or most instances so I don't see the point of getting butthurt about it and correcting them every time. That's just my opinion, though, and it's a shame different opinions aren't welcome on this site.
