I didn't even realize they put religion on dog tags. Wonder what the reasoning is on that. So people would know what kind of funeral to give them?

I'm not sure, but I'm guessing it's something along those lines. We do our best at my hospital to get info like that so that we can do our best to respect our patient's wishes in the event that they can no longer communicate them and no family is present, which is sad, but sometimes happens.
