A pansexual is a person who is attracted to someone regardless of gender- they don't see gender as a factor in attraction. It's a little different then bisexuals, who are attracted to men and women, because there is a wider range of genders than just two- and pansexuals see them all as potential partners.
Thank you, Song! Pan doesn't meant what you cook in, the word pansexual comes from the Greek word 'pan-', meaning "all". And that's great, Spacewolf! There is a whole community of support and resources out there for you when you are ready :-)
Transgender people tend to love pansexuals. After all, it's hard to get dates with gay and straight people when you're trans. Even many bisexuals want someone who's either female or male.
I take it easy. It's ok to laugh at yourself from time to time, as far as you don't turn that into a painful thing, i guess. I like to make people laugh, so it's ok :B
Nah, I'm extremelly lucky! I've never been discrimined for being pansexual, just one little time I disgusted someone. The farest thing I get is the silly jokes and getting mixed up for a bisexual, wich is no big deal at all! I think is really important than even if you're not having a bad time you remember you can still make a difference against bullying of any kind, and shouldn't wait for it to happen to yourself. So if at any point I could help anyone, I'll definetly do so. So I'm thankful for the cheers, and I'll sure as hell will pass them on.
I identify as pansexual too- I haven't gotten a lot of the pan jokes, but people give me Peter Pan stuff all the time. Which from my friends is okay, but I could see jokes from the outside become tiring
Intersex is when someone is born with both female and male parts. At least.. that's the easiest, least detailed way to explain it. There are many different types. They're often put under the transgender umbrella.
Nope. Because they're not true hermaphrodites. Usually, only either the female or male parts work completely and properly. True hermaphroditism only occurs in some animals.
This reminds me of the person who asked me why there can't be straight pride. It's because straight people aren't oppressed. They're seen as the norm. Gay pride isn't the same as being proud that you have brown hair or green eyes. We have lgbt pride because we're standing up and taking our rights. Trying our best to be seen and treated as normal. We use it to raise awareness about us and what we need. Instead of someone asking "shouldn't there be straight pride" or "shouldn't we be in the group, too", be glad you don't need it.
I tink we DO need to be on the group because we are all the same and when we say that it sounds like we are a family more than just a team.(for some straight people that support gay people .like me.) C: . It's not that we just need it is that we just want to help like a family (i repeat. The people that suport gay people and other kind of gender. I know that im not the only one. Im just trying to say that you are not alone.)
We submitted our comments at the same time, lol, sorry! I try to use heterosexual other than straight, personally, because I think it could imply that non-heterosexuals are "crooked," but that's just me.
Also with heterosexuals, they can have partners who are members of the community- bisexuals, pansexuals, intersex, and trans people can all end up with a hetero partner, which makes them more intimately involved in the community than most.
The discusion of straight being on the spectrum reminds of a store in Des Moines Iowa I went to ages ago called DV8. They apparently (I think) catered to the LGBTQ community.
.
They had a tshirt there that said "It's OK to be straight." I wish I had gotten it.
.
PS, LGBTQ... is that still appropriate? Are there more letters included now?
Well, given the down vote...
Either it isn't ok to be straight,
OR
LGBTQ isn't appropriate, but rather than correct me, someone would rather let me twist in the wind.
.
Either way, thanks a lot asshole. Doing great furthering your cause there.
I haven't heard of that store or the "It's okay to be straight" campaign, so I cannot comment on that. And LGBTQ is definitely appropriate, some people add an IA, for Intersex, Asexuals & Allies. So LGBTQIA if you go all out. Hope that helps :-)
Thanks! I was fairly certain that there were a few more letters in the community initialism.
As far as I know there wasn't an "It's OK to be straight" campaign... it was just a silly shirt.
As far as I know DV8 was a "Mom & Pop" one off, but given the nature of it... it might have been a Pop & Pop or Mom & Mom store. :)

I'm just boring old straight. :( I personally think being bisexual would be a lot better.
You shouldn't be bored for what you are, you can always experiment tho. Just remember what you really are and don't become something you are not just for the fun of it n.n

Well, being bisexual would open up a lot more options than being straight, that's why I think it would be better.
Thank you! I am not offended by that at all! Yes, I identify as pansexual- I have been in relationships with straight/bisexual men, transgender men, and lesbian women. Which sounds like a lot, lol, but only one at a time!
