So you had a sucky experience. That's not everyone. Like I said, I personally know two fathers who have full custody, and one gets child support. Your father having problems getting custody doesn't mean every father does.

I don't know about anywhere else, but in the US judges usually give custody rights to the main caregiver. Meaning whoever feeds/bathes/helps with homework, spends the most time with them, etc. If that's the dad, they do get custody. I know two men who have.

Yeah, that number would have to be about 600,000 to 700,000 given the vote results. Nowhere near that many people were so unsure that they were involved in those internet searches.

I didn't say the government should pay for healthcare. I said a lot of people can't afford it on their own and that a lot of businesses do things like put people on the books under 35 hours so they can list them as part time and deny benefits. Simple statement of fact. Health care costs are pretty much out of control in the US.

Somebody looked into this and found the "400%" increase for this search was because something like 50 people a day were looking it up and it spikes to 200 people the day after the vote. Not those exact numbers, but a ridiculously low number out of millions of voters.

A large number of individuals can barely pay for healthcare either, and a lot of employers do their best not to.

One third of our military, vs 2/3 of our military plus the citizens who will join and/or be draftedbplus our allies' armies, and that 1/3 won't have access to nearly as much artillary as the main body. The US was built on the fundamental belief that everything can be worked out democratically. We have all the mechanisms in place for that. You can't make everyone happy all the time, but most have faith in the system. Rebellions have all failed here because there aren't enough "I don't like those rules" whiners to fuel them.

Nowadays the causes are rarely just. Most people cuddling guns and saying they want to overthrow the government (in the US) are people who want to benefit without following laws and feel like their rights are infringed because they have to do things the same way everyone else does. The "wrongs" most of them are touting leave the rest of us shaking our heads.

Many. Most likely not enough. And what a lot of people stirring shit fail to realize is that the majority of Americans think they're full of shit and will not let them overthrow their government.

Yeah, I'm first to admit I have NO idea of Spain's politics, I just know they have a couple upstarts over there who are probably going to raise hell now, so welcoming Scotland to the EU without UK is a no go if they don't want to give the wrong impression. So they couldn't advocate for accepting UK separatists/refugees even if they wanted to.

US citizens couldn't overthrow their government any more easily than any other country, guns or no guns. We have a highly trained military that would wipe out any "sovereign citizen" rebellion very quickly if called in. Plus, what most people who are "protecting themselves from the government" fail to realize is that a vast majority of gun owners are Americans first, and will defend their country from an uprising until the military arrives. It's not "democracy only as long as I like the people who get voted in," it's "I pledge allegience to the flag of the USA, and to the Republic for which it stands."

I'm not arguing the politics of it, just pointing out that Spain isn't worried about the UK leaving the EU because it affects people, but because it has a faction of separatists it doesn't want to give ideas.

Spain is also against Scotland voting to leave UK and join the EU itself because it doesn't want Catalonia getting ideas, so.

Okay, culturally different =/= racist. I get that some people were offhandedly saying "hey, instead of John having 5 sandwiches in this problem how about we expand and say he's got 5 pitas," but who the hell looks at that and gets "sandwiches are racist" instead of "that's nice, it includes kids whose cultures don't do sandwiches"?

These things only tend to be used in areas or situations where there's police harassment though. Which IS a thing in some places, and unfortunately yelling "not all cops are bad" doesn't do anything to clear out the ones who are. Police stations are like anything else, if you want public trust you have to actually do something about the bad apples.
