Okay, so! Apparently my city has cameras that have recently had audio updates so they can actually identify gunshots and try to snap pictures. Sort of like red light cameras for gunshots. But they have issues differentiating, so fireworks keep setting them off too. So a computer may beat man at Chess, but not at Gunshot Or Firework.

When she looked like a real person, yeah. All the Kardashians are starting to look the same, it's like they have a "buy 9 copies of this face get the 10th one free" card.

Yup, they started setting off fireworks in my neighborhood on Sunday, and probably won't stop for weeks.

Tama died June 22, 2015, one year ago today. :( She was a whopping 16 years old. But she was succeeded by her deputy stationmaster, Nitama! (Which I think means something like Tama 2)

Why is everyone's first assumption that this means culling or eugenics? Birth rates in wealthier nations have been dropping naturally for a while. It used to be common for everyone to have 5 or 6 kids or more, now it's down to an average of 2 or 3. Access to birth control in poorer areas, better education chances for women in developing nations, and access to better healthcare and nutrition have all been shown to both improve people's lives and allow them to keep their families smaller. Give people control of their lives and they're often content with smaller families. This is good for the planet AND the people.

So is this the origin of why we say "I licked it, it's mine" about everything?

It had a very important function: collect the assload of dirt that made its way in through the sides if you dropped it a lot/had kids and evenly distribute it in a disgusting layer between the keys.

There's only one comedien who should be taken seriously and that's Ron White. "We only need two threat levels: Everything Is Fine, and Put On Your Damn Helmet." (paraphrased)

Most of us are too busy having Grant look over our portfolio to go waving our age and experience at all these whippersnappers.

I can see a less diverse place doing that for the sake of homogeny and not having a kid stand out too much, but in a place like the US, where the spirit of the country is literally "fuck you, I'mma do the thing" it wouldn't go over well. We encourage individuality to the point of crazy, we like it. A better option is easier mechanisms for the kid to change their name later if they hate it.

I have a nice, predictable weather pattern I'll stick to. We joke about the rain or temperature changes here, but for the most part I like knowing what the sky is doing ahead of time.

Yup, love the midwest and the east coast! Both areas are really pretty and have lots going on.

I can't even make it through reading your replies, the all caps makes it impossible for me to take you seriously even if you made valid points. Otherwise, I'm curious. Zip, what do they look for in these tests that's indicative of a gender-leaning brain?

Some states still won't let you change your birth certificate or other documents even if you get surgery.

If it's all expensive we can finance it since we'll live forever. What are the payments on a loan of a couple million spread over a few thousand years?

You weren't an ass. There's a vocal minority of "feminists" out there who think they're owed superior treatment instead of equality because previous generations were oppressed, and they attack EVERYTHING. It's easy to get defensive about something you love when it looks like they're the ones attacking, I get the same way. I was rolling my eyes about this issue too until I read the details.

A lot of people unfamiliar with the franchise looked at it and thought "some serious shit is going down right now." The problem was that the "serious shit" that came to mind for many people wasn't "epic battle between two soldiers," it was "that villain's choking the hell out of an unarmed lady." Historically, Mystique kicks 50 shades of ass without needing all that and isn't somebody you turn your back on from 5 miles away, but me and you know that. We get it right away, so it's hard to see why other people wouldn't. For a lot of people it was just two unknown mutants with nothing to tell them Mystique was his opponent and not his victim.
